1. Remove & prep
We’ll first remove all cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware (handles, hinges), then protect surrounding surfaces with drop cloths or plastic sheeting.
2. Clean & degrease
Cabinets are thoroughly cleaned using a degreaser to remove grease, dirt, and residue.
3. Sand
Cabinet surfaces are then sanded with fine-grit sandpaper to remove the old finish and create a smooth surface for the new paint to adhere to. All surfaces are vacuumed or wiped to remove dust.
4. Repair & fill
Any cracks, holes, or dents are filled with wood filler and allowed to dry. Newly filled areas are sanded to ensure a smooth finish.
5. Prime
High-quality primer is applied to ensure better paint adhesion and prevent stains from bleeding through. A brush is used for detailed areas and a roller for flat surfaces. Primer is allowed to dry thoroughly.
6. Paint
The first coat of high-quality, durable paint designed for cabinets is applied. A brush is used for edges, and a foam roller is used for large, flat areas to minimize brush marks. The first coat is allowed to dry completely before lightly sanding with fine-grit sandpaper for a smooth finish. A second coat of paint is then applied.
7. Reassemble & finish
Once the paint is fully dry, the cabinets are reassembled and inspected for an touch-up needs to ensure a flawless finish.
